Dear Community,
This week has been a different week for us.
I am pleased to inform you that we recently welcomed Ofsted inspectors to our school. The visit was a positive experience, and we look forward to sharing the outcomes with you after the summer break. Please note that due to external processes beyond our control, which will be affected by the summer holidays, we will not receive the report from them until school resumes after the break.
On Thursday, we held our Culture Day, which proved to be a wonderful experience for all involved. It was truly heartening to witness the celebration of diversity and the rich tapestry of our community. We are immensely proud of our students and the efforts they made to engage with and embrace the various activities on offer. The day featured a range of enlightening experiences, including Bhangra sessions, Gatka demonstrations, and a presentation on Black History. We were also privileged to welcome religious teachers from the Muslim School Oadby, who generously gave their time to answer questions from our students. The entire day was a resounding success, exemplifying the inclusive and culturally rich environment we strive to maintain at our school.
Next week, the majority of our Year 10 students will be venturing out for their work experience placements. We wish them the very best of luck as they gain valuable insights into the world of work and begin to consider their future career paths.
As we near the end of term, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your continued support throughout this academic year. With the summer holidays approaching, I kindly ask that you keep in mind our school uniform expectations, particularly when purchasing new items. Please exercise caution when buying footwear, as many shops may advertise certain items as "school shoes" when they do not meet our requirements. We have made significant progress in this area over the past year, and we greatly appreciate your ongoing cooperation.
I would like to draw your attention to some key events taking place this week, including our new Year 7 induction. More detailed information about this can be found within this newsletter.
Finally, please note that the last day of term this year will be Thursday, 11th July. School will close at 12:40 pm, with buses arriving at this time to transport students home. Any student entitled to a free school meal will still be able to access this service on the day.
I would like to thank you for your unwavering support and commitment to our school community. Your engagement and cooperation play a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for our students to thrive.
Mr S Greiff
