Dear Families
This week has undoubtedly been a whirlwind of activity, and we were privileged to welcome several distinguished visitors to school this week. Notably, Paul Hannaford, a renowned speaker and advocate (www.paulhannaford.com), graced our presence and imparted invaluable insights to every single student regarding the perils of addiction.
His thought-provoking discourse encompassed a wide range of topics, including County Lines, knife crime, addiction, vaping, and the profound impact of choices on one's long-term well-being. I encourage you to explore his website for further information on this crucial subject matter. There were some really hard-hitting and clear messages based upon real life experiences.
Furthermore, we hosted our highly anticipated Careers Fair today, where numerous external providers engaged with our students, imparting invaluable guidance and enlightenment regarding their future endeavours beyond school. Such experiences are invaluable in shaping the trajectories of our young minds and empowering them to make informed decisions about their respective paths.
It is with great pride that we celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students, who have demonstrated unwavering dedication and perseverance throughout their journey. Last night, we commemorated their remarkable accomplishments with their ‘Prom’ held at Shearsby Bath. This lovely occasion marked a fitting conclusion to their time, allowing them to create cherished memories that we hope will live long in their minds.
As we bid farewell to our departing Year 11 students, they will have their leaver’s assembly on Monday at 2 pm. On this one occasion, students are encouraged to not wear their school uniform! They can bring a shirt to have signed, of course. We hope that we can all celebrate their remarkable achievements together. Furthermore, we kindly request any donations of uniform that can contribute to our preloved uniform store, ensuring that these garments continue to serve our community. Year 11s can bring this with them on Monday if possible.
Have a lovely weekend.
